Assoc. Dip. S & D TheoryMeredith developed a love of the performing arts during her primary and secondary schooling through Speech and Drama, classical Ballet and Harp.
After receiving a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in politics and history, a Bachelor of Politics and Management with Honours and a Master of Arts in International Politics from The University of Melbourne Meredith worked for a Federal Government Minister. Meredith recognised that the skills and confidence gained through her Speech and Drama studies were immensely beneficial to her work.
After starting a family, Meredith returned to Speech and Drama to study under the guidance of teacher and mentor Marie Sullivan. She was awarded an Associate Diploma in Speech and Drama Performance and Theory through the Australian Guild of Music and Speech Education with an Examiner’s Excellence Award.
Meredith has taught both adults and children privately, preparing them for Speech & Drama examinations, medical students’ oral examinations, job interview skills and public speaking. Meredith has taught at St. Columba’s College Essendon, Loreto Mandeville Hall and is currently enjoying teaching the MLC Years 7 and 8 Drama Club.
Meredith has adjudicated for various Eisteddfods, including The Eisteddfod By the Bay, The Ringwood Eisteddfod, and The Ainger Public Speaking Awards.
Meredith has performed in various community theatre productions and has trained actors and performed with the 3D Arts Theatre Company including works performed as part of the Melbourne Fringe Festival.
As a strong believer in the power of the spoken word, Meredith aims to instil a love of language and performing stories that matter, not only in her students, but also her children (of which there are 7)!
